Temperature, climate change, and human conception rates: evidence from Hungary

چکیده
Abstract In this paper, we examine the relationship between temperature and human conception rates project impacts of climate change by mid-twenty-first century. Using complete administrative data on 6.8 million pregnancies 1980 2015 in Hungary, show that exposure to hot temperatures reduces rate first few weeks following exposure, but a partial rebound is observed after that. We with absent adaptation, will increase seasonal differences annual decline. A number induced abortions spontaneous fetal losses drives decline rates. The live births unaffected. However, some newborns experience shift timing leads changes utero therefore might have further consequences.

Methodology and Results of Calculating Central California Surface Temperature Trends: Evidence of Human-Induced Climate Change?
A procedure is described to construct time series of regional surface temperatures and is then applied to interior central California stations to test the hypothesis that century-scale trend differences between irrigated and nonirrigated regions may be identified. The procedure requires documentation of every point in time at which a discontinuity in a station record may have occurred through (...
متن کاملClimate Change and Long-run Discount Rates: Evidence from Real Estate
The optimal investment to mitigate climate change crucially depends on the discount rate used to evaluate the investment’s uncertain future benefits. The appropriate discount rate is a function of the horizon over which these benefits accrue and the riskiness of the investment. In this paper, we estimate the term structure of discount rates for an important risky asset class, real estate, up to...
متن کاملClimate Change Could Change Rates of Evolution
When delegates for the United Nations climate change summit met in Mexico in December 2010, they heard the latest reports of rising temperatures, rising tides, shrinking sea ice, and crashing populations of endangered species. With thousands of the planet’s animals and plants facing extinction, predicting how species may— or may not—adapt to rapid changes in their environment is a top priority ...
متن کاملClimate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence
West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...
متن کاملRegional Climate Change Expected in Hungary for 2071-2100
Expected climate change estimations for the Carpathian basin and especially, Hungary, are summarized for the 2071-2100 period on the basis of the results from the project PRUDENCE. Different regional climate models (RCMs) used 50 km as the horizontal spatial resolution, and evaluated the A2 and B2 global emission scenarios. Results suggest that in case of temperature, a warming trend is evident...
