Testing homogeneity: the trouble with sparse functional data

چکیده
Abstract Testing the homogeneity between two samples of functional data is an important task. While this feasible for intensely measured data, we explain why it challenging sparsely and show what can be done such data. In particular, that testing marginal based on point-wise distributions under some mild constraints propose a new two-sample statistic works well with both intensively The proposed test formulated upon energy distance, convergence rate to its population version derived along consistency associated permutation test. aptness our method demonstrated synthetic real sets.

Testing fuzzy hypotheses with vague data
The problem of testing fuzzy hypotheses in the presence of vague data is considered. A new method based on the necessity index of strict dominance (NSD) is suggested. An example hoe to apply the proposed test in statistical quality control is shown.

Assessing the Homogeneity of Temperature and Precipitation Data in Iran with Climatic Approach Extended Abstract: Qualitative evaluation and validation of atmospheric parameters such as precipitation and temperature are the most important condition for statistical analysis in climatic and hydrological researches. In addition, the meteorological and climatological data have a crucial role i...
متن کاملData Driven Approaches to Testing Homogeneity of Intraclass Correlation Coefficients
The test of homogeneity for intraclass correlation coefficients has been one of the active topics in statistical research. Several chi-square tests have been proposed to test the homogeneity of intraclass correlations in the past few decades. The big concern for them is that these methods are seriously biased when sample sizes are not large. In this thesis, data driven approaches are proposed t...
متن کاملTesting Homogeneity with Galaxy Star Formation Histories
Observationally confirming spatial homogeneity on sufficiently large cosmological scales is of importance to test one of the underpinning assumptions of cosmology, and is also imperative for correctly interpreting dark energy. A challenging aspect of this is that homogeneity must be probed inside our past lightcone, while observations take place on the lightcone. The star formation history (SFH...
متن کاملFunctional Data Analysis for Sparse Longitudinal Data
We propose a nonparametric method to perform functional principal components analysis for the case of sparse longitudinal data. The method aims at irregularly spaced longitudinal data, where the number of repeated measurements available per subject is small. In contrast, classical functional data analysis requires a large number of regularly spaced measurements per subject. We assume that the r...
