Texture analysis as a method for grape berry characterization
نویسندگان
چکیده
The marketability of table grapes is mainly characterized by berry size, color, taste and texture. Mechanical measurements grape berries could provide objective information on the textural qualities berries. In addition, this method might be suitable to study effects phytotechnical methods (such as girdling) quality. aim preliminary work was demonstrate how instrumental testing used examine girdling texture define characteristics Cane carried out at veraison in two varieties. Texture analysis performed several times during maturity. Besides examination another five varieties were analyzed assess their mechanical properties. Double compression test determine hardness its derived parameters. Puncture applied evaluate skin hardness, elasticity break energy. Skin thickness also investigated. Berry girdled grapevines significantly affected technique. Most parameters showed differences among seven cultivars.

Grape berry biochemistry revisited upon proteomic analysis of the mesocarp.
Major soluble proteins of grapevine ripe berries were extracted from six different cultivars including non vinifera, with trichloroacetic acid acetone and resolved in two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) gels. About three hundred spots were detected on the 2-DE map after colloidal blue staining. From 2-DE map of cv. Gamay mesocarp, 67 proteins were identified (p > 0.95) using matrix-assisted ...

A 3-yr field study was conducted at commercial grape farms to evaluate cutting wild grapevines as a cultural control strategy for grape berry moth, Paralobesia viteana (Clemens). At each farm, wild grapevines were cut in the woods adjacent to one vineyard for control of P. viteana, whereas the comparison vineyard received no such cutting. Both vineyards received a standard broad-spectrum insect...
متن کاملCopper impacts on grape berry cells: uptake and detoxification
Copper has been extensively used as the active principle of fungicides, since the late 1800s when the “Bordeaux mixture” was developed and its spectacular efficiency proved against fungal pathogens such as downy mildew, which is a large threat to winegrowers. Although initially it seemed to improve plant growth in unproductive lands, repeated use of copper-based fungicides has led to the accumu...
متن کاملGrapes on steroids. Brassinosteroids are involved in grape berry ripening.
Fruit ripening is a unique plant developmental process with direct implications for our food supply, nutrition, and health. In contrast to climacteric fruit, where ethylene is pivotal, the hormonal control of ripening in nonclimacteric fruit, such as grape (Vitis vinifera), is poorly understood. Brassinosteroids (BRs) are steroidal hormones, essential for normal plant growth and development but...
متن کاملComplex Interplay of Hormonal Signals during Grape Berry Ripening.
Grape and wine production and quality is extremely dependent on the fruit ripening process. Sensory and nutritional characteristics are important aspects for consumers and their development during fruit ripening involves complex hormonal control. In this review, we explored data already published on grape ripening and compared it with the hormonal regulation of ripening of other climacteric and...
