Absolute structure and absolute configuration.
Fundamental notions concerning absolute structure and absolute configuration, and their determination from single-crystal diffraction measurements, are presented and reviewed. A glossary of terms with definitions useful in this field is provided. For absolute structure and its determination, the separate but interacting influences of the structure and the inversion-distinguishing power of an X-...
متن کاملThe Crystal Structure and Absolute Configuration of 2 ' - Deoxycytidine Hydrochloride
2'-Deoxycytidine hydrochloride (C9H14N3Q4Cl) was crystallized from water as monoclinic needles, space group P21, with a=6-561, b= 17·659, c=5·125 A, P= 108·08° and two molecules per cell. The crystal structure has been determined by a three-dimensional X-ray diffraction analysis. A complete hemisphere of data (positive and negative values of both hand k) was collected with a General Electric XR...
متن کاملThe absolute configuration of ( )-3-hydroxy-a-calacorene
3-Hydroxy-a-calacorene was identified in extracts from cold-shocked seedlings of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) and kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.), both of which are members of the Malvaceae family. ( )-3-Hydroxy-a-calacorene was isolated from Heterotheca inuloides Cass. (Asteraceae). HPLC on a chiral stationary phase column showed that the 3-hydroxy-acalacorene from cotton and kenaf had the sa...
متن کامل2-Isopropyl-3-methylquinoxaline 1,4-dioxide
In the title compound, C(12)H(14)N(2)O(2), the quinoxaline ring system and the C atoms of the methylene and methyl substituents lie on a mirror plane. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.680 (7) Å].
متن کامل2-Hydroxy-6-isopropyl-3-methylbenzoic acid
The title compound, C(11)H(14)O(3), is a multiple-substituted derivative of benzoic acid. Intra-cyclic C-C-C angles span a range of 117.16 (19)-122.32 (19)°. Apart from intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, inter-molecular hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure, the latter ones giving rise to centrosymmetric carb-oxy-lic acid dimers.
