The Call for Environmentally-Based Language Teaching and Green Pedagogy: Climate Actions in Language Education

Environmental education (EE) is one of the content-based language learning pedagogies used to enhance students’ awareness environmental concerns and their effect on people animals. It aims build teachers’ importance EE green pedagogy in ELT. However, research into integrating still scarce. Therefore, this article presents an analysis multimodal discourse imperatives using content integrated (CLIL) strategy. Grounded video data (VDA) approach, researchers analysed recorded talks two university lecturers who offered finest teaching approaches, environmentalists from “Bye-Bye Plastic Bags Jakarta” described significant efforts handling plastic waste a 2021 webinar held by British Council Indonesia. Based thematic analysis, forum suggests: 1) including issues curriculum, syllabus, textbook development, 2) providing environmentally-relevant materials resources, 3) teacher professional 4) accelerating literacy programs at all levels education. In other words, inclusion sustainability initiatives ELT should be well-acknowledged. The methodological pedagogical strategies study addressed high demand catalyse metacognitive indirectly skills about care.
