The dynamic general nesting spatial econometric model for spatial panels with common factors: Further raising the bar

چکیده

The dynamic general nesting spatial econometric model for panels with common factors is the most advanced currently available. It accounts local dependence by means of an endogenous lag, exogenous lags, and a lag in error term. effects dependent variable lagged time, both space time. Finally, it global cross-sectional averages or principal components heterogeneous coefficients, which generalizes traditional controls time-invariant spatial-invariant variables unit-specific time-specific effects. This paper provides overview main arguments favor each these components, as well some potential pitfalls.

Applied Spatial Econometrics: Raising the Bar

This paper places the key issues and implications of the new ‘introductory’ book on spatial econometrics by James LeSage & Kelley Pace (2009) in a broader perspective: the argument in favour of the spatial Durbin model, the use of indirect effects as a more valid basis for testing whether spatial spillovers are significant, the use of Bayesian posterior model probabilities to determine which sp...

Large Panels with Common Factors and Spatial Correlations

This paper considers the statistical analysis of large panel data sets where even after conditioning on common observed e¤ects the cross section units might remain dependently distributed. This could arise when the cross section units are subject to unobserved common e¤ects and/or if there are spill over e¤ects due to spatial or other forms of local dependencies. The paper provides an overview ...

Large Panels with Common Factors and Spatial Correlation

This paper considers methods for estimating the slope coe¢ cients in large panel data models that are robust to the presence of various forms of error cross section dependence. It introduces a general framework where error cross section dependence may arise because of unobserved common e¤ects and/or error spillover e¤ects due to spatial or other forms of local dependencies. Initially, this pape...

Regional Inequality in Iran and the Impact of Economic Factors: A Spatial Econometric Approach

R egional unbalanced growth and the factors affecting it are one of the most important economic issues in developing countries. In this research, after evaluating the regional inequality at the provincial level of Iran, in order to examine the effect of economic factors on it, it was considered as a spatial econometric model using panel data during the period of 2001 to 2015. The evaluatio...
