The Environmental Drivers of Benthic Fauna Diversity and Community Composition

چکیده
Establishing management programs to preserve the benthic communities along NW Pacific and Arctic Ocean (AO) requires a deep understanding of composition their responses environmental stressors. In this study, we thus examine patterns community species richness Seas investigate most important drivers those patterns. Overall found trend decreasing toward higher latitudes deeper waters, peaking in coastal waters eastern Philippines. The dominant taxa entire study area were Arthropoda, Mollusca, Cnidaria, Echinodermata, Annelida. We that depth, not temperature, was main driver neighboring Seas. Depth has been previously suggested as factor driving distribution fauna. Following influential silicate, light, currents. For example, silicate Hexactinellida, Holothuroidea, Ophiuroidea; light Cephalopoda Gymnolaemata had highest correlations with composition. based on combination new samples open-access data, show different might respond differently future climatic changes taxon-specific biological, physiological, ecological characteristics. International conservation efforts habitat preservation should take an adaptive approach apply measures differences among responding climate change into account. This facilitates implementing appropriate strategies sustainable utilization marine ecosystems.

Benthic Fauna of Shadegan Wetland
Biological response and ecological indices of benthic communities, such as greater mortality of foraminifera and shell abnormalities, have been used to document pollution effects on ecosystems. Shadegan Wetland was damaged from a deposition of huge amounts of soot and products of burning oilwells of Kuwait as well as chronic exhaust fumes of refinery and industrial furnaces. In this investigati...
متن کاملCommunity composition and diversity of zooplankton in the northwest Persian Gulf
Survey on zooplankton composition was studied during June 2015 to March 2016, by selecting six stations along the coastal waters of Bushehr (the Northwest Persian Gulf). Twenty four zooplankton taxa were identified, and the different zooplankton groups represented twenty-one families. Copepoda was recorded with the most abundance (53.30 %) followed by Malacostraca (32.87 %), which in turn was f...
متن کاملEnvironmental drivers of fish functional diversity and composition in the Lower Colorado River Basin
Freshwater conservation efforts require an understanding of how natural and anthropogenic factors shape the present-day biogeography of native and non-native species. This knowledge need is especially acute for imperiled native fishes in the highly modified Lower Colorado River Basin (LCRB), USA. In the present study we employed both a taxonomic and functional approach to explore how natural an...
