The explanation-polarisation model: Pseudoscience spreads through explanatory satisfaction and group polarisation

This article presents an integrative model for the endorsement of pseudoscience: explanation-polarisation model. It is based on a combination perceived explanatory satisfaction and group polarisation, offering perspective different from classical confusion-based conception, in which pseudoscientific beliefs would be accepted through lack distinction between science mimicry. First, I discuss account light current evidence, pointing out some its shortcomings. Second, develop model, showing power connection with recent research outcomes cognitive social psychology.
