The Importance of the Orbital Parameters for the Indian Summer Monsoon During the Mid-Holocene, as Deciphered From Atmospheric Model Experiments

Proxy and model-based studies suggest multi-scale temporal variability in the Indian summer monsoon (ISM). In this study, using CESM1 atmospheric general circulation model, we carried out multiple ensemble AGCM simulations for Mid-Holocene (MH; ? 6 kyr BP), Medieval Warm Period (MWP; 1 Little Ice Age (LIA; 0.35 Historical (HS; CE 2000) periods. We used PMIP3/CMIP5 boundary conditions purpose. Our indicate that ISM during MH was stronger compared to HS rainfall higher, agreement with several proxy studies. The experiments also (ISMR) higher MWP relative LIA our earlier results from PMIP3 models. A relatively northward migration of ITCZ over region strengthening neighboring subtropical high northwestern Pacific, both associated insolation obliquity precision MH, seem be important reason MH.
