The journal coverage of Web of Science, Scopus and Dimensions: A comparative analysis

Traditionally, Web of Science and Scopus have been the two most widely used databases for bibliometric analyses. However, during last few years some new scholarly databases, such as Dimensions, come up. Several previous studies compared different either through a direct comparison article coverage or by comparing citations across databases. This attempts to compare journal three databases: Science, Dimensions. The recent master lists purpose identifying overlapping unique journals covered in results indicate that significantly coverage, with being selective Dimensions exhaustive. About 99.11% 96.61% indexed are also respectively. has 96.42% its database exhaustive 82.22% more 48.17% Scopus. We analysed research outputs 20 highly productive countries 2010-2019 period, identified database-induced variations output volume, rank global share countries. In addition overall from countries, appear differential disciplines.
