The Questioning Techniques of Primary School Mathematics Teachers in their Journey to Incorporate Dialogic Teaching

Questioning is one of the critical repertoires in dialogic teaching. Teachers who set classrooms need to be able use questioning effectively. Effective techniques by teachers improve teacher-student instructional dialogues primary school mathematics classrooms. In this study, practices three were analysed their journey incorporate Data gathered through lesson observations, video recordings and teacher interviews. The teachers’ classroom discourses transcribed verbatim, questions find out types questions, how asked feedback given student’s responses. Findings from study indicated that used effective ensuring teaching, with focusing, genuine enquiry, closed testing being most predominant. portrayed positive attitudes towards teaching shared comprehensive understanding approach.
