The Second Epoch Molonglo Galactic Plane Survey: Images and Candidate Supernova Remnants
The second epoch Molonglo Galactic Plane Survey covers the area 245◦ ≤ l ≤ 365◦ and |b| ≤ 10◦ at a frequency of 843 MHz and an angular resolution of 45 arcsec× 45 arcsec cosec(δ). The sensitivity varies between 1–2 mJy beam−1 depending on the presence of strong extended sources. This survey is currently the highest resolution and most sensitive large-scale continuum survey of the southern Galac...
متن کاملThe QUaD Galactic Plane Survey. II. A Compact Source Catalog
We present a catalog of compact sources derived from the QUaD Galactic Plane Survey. The survey covers ∼800 deg2 of the inner galaxy (|b| < 4◦) in Stokes I, Q, and U parameters at 100 and 150 GHz, with angular resolutions of 5 and 3.5 arcmin, respectively. Five hundred and twenty-six unique sources are identified in I, of which 239 are spatially matched between frequency bands, with 53 (234) de...
متن کاملThe EVN Galactic Plane Survey – EGaPS
I present a catalogue of the positions and correlated flux densities of 109 compact extragalactic radio sources in the Galactic plane determined from an analysis of a 48-h Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) experiment at 22 GHz with the European VLBI Network. The median position uncertainty is 9 mas. The correlated flux densities of the detected sources are in the range of 20–300 mJy. In ...
متن کاملLine Survey Observations of the Galactic Plane
We present results of our survey observations of the [C II] 158 μm line emission from the Galactic plane using the Balloon-borne Infrared Carbon Explorer (BICE). Our survey covers a wide area (350◦∼< l ∼< 25, |b| ∼< 3) with a spatial resolution of 15. We employed a new observing method called the “fast spectral scanning” to make large-scale observations efficiently. Strong [C II] line emission ...
متن کاملAn adaptive filter for the PLANCK Compact Source Catalogue Construction
We develop a linear algorithm for extracting extragalactic point sources for the Compact Source Catalogue of the upcoming PLANCK mission. This algorithm is based on a simple top-hat filter in the harmonic domain with an adaptive filtering range which does not require a priori knowledge of the CMB power spectrum and the experiment parameters such as the beam size and shape nor pixel noise level.
