The Semi-Closed Molten Salt-Assisted One-Step Synthesis of N-P-Fe Tridoped Porous Carbon Nanotubes for an Efficient Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Transition metal and heteroatom co-doped carbon nanomaterials (TM-H-C) are considered to be the most promising candidates replace expensive platinum-based catalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR). Herein, we report a semi-closed molten salt-assisted one-step strategy fabricating N-P-Fe-tridoped porous nanotube (CNT) by using evaporation of ZnCl2 catalysis iron ions control heteroatoms doping process CNT formation. The resultant densely packed structure imparts final with an enhanced mass transfer ability electron ORR-involved species, ensuring high performance in catalyzing ORR. Significantly, optimal show half-wave potential 0.89 V (vs. RHE), which is better than commercial reported TM-H-C ORR catalysts. Impressively, when applied primary inc-oxygen (Zn–O2) battery, synthesized catalyst comprehensively outperforms state-of-the-art both its maximum power density specific capacity.
