Abstract Silicon tracking detectors have grown to cover larger surface areas up hundreds of square meters, and are even taking over other sub-detectors, such as calorimeters. However, further improvements in detector performance more likely arise from the ability make a low mass comprised high ratio active sensor inactive materials, where dead materials include electrical services, cooling, mechanical supports, etc. In addition, cost time build these is currently large. Therefore, advancements fundamental technology may need look at transformative approach that enables extremely large area coverage with minimal material easier faster build. The advancement thin film fabrication techniques has potential revolutionize next-to-next generation particle experiments. Some deposition already been developed widely used industry LED screens for TVs monitors.
