Time-frequency encoded single-photon generation and broadband single-photon storage with a tunable subradiant state

چکیده

An atomic system that can be addressed via a single optical mode, hereafter called one-dimensional atom, is central for many applications in quantum technologies. A cavity with large Purcell factor required to collect the emission efficiently, but small long-time memory storage. Here, we introduce an effective and versatile atom consisting of two interacting emitters efficiently coupled mode factor. The dipole–dipole interaction gives rise subradiant state tunable bandwidth. We demonstrate generation time-shaped photons implementation memory. discuss experimental challenges practical using different systems.

Tunable single-photon frequency conversion in a Sagnac interferometer.

Quantum information carriers like photons might be manipulated, stored and transmitted in different quantum systems. It is important to integrate those systems efficiently. The capability of converting photons from one wavelength to another wavelength is a key requirement for combining the photons in telecommunications band for quantum transmission and the photons in near-visible band for quant...

Photon correlation in single-photon frequency upconversion.

We experimentally investigated the intensity cross-correlation between the upconverted photons and the unconverted photons in the single-photon frequency upconversion process with multi-longitudinal mode pump and signal sources. In theoretical analysis, with this multi-longitudinal mode of both signal and pump sources system, the properties of the signal photons could also be maintained as in t...

Remote preparation of arbitrary time-encoded single-photon ebits.

We propose and experimentally verify a novel method for the remote preparation of entangled bits (ebits) made of a single photon coherently delocalized in two well-separated temporal modes. The proposed scheme represents a remotely tunable source for tailoring arbitrary ebits, whether maximally or nonmaximally entangled, which is highly desirable for applications in quantum information technolo...

Neural Imaging Using Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes

Introduction: This paper analyses the ability of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) for neural imaging. The current trend in the production of SPADs moves toward the minimumdark count rate (DCR) and maximum photon detection probability (PDP). Moreover, the jitter response which is the main measurement characteristic for the timing uncertainty is progressing. Methods: The neural imaging pro...
