چکیده
The CSEM method, which is frequently used as a risk-reduction tool in hydrocarbon exploration, finally moving to new frontier: reservoir monitoring and surveillance. In the present work, we time-lapse interpretation workflow. One essential aspect of our workflow demonstration linear relationship between anomalous transverse resistance, an attribute extracted from data inversion, SoPhiH attribute, estimated fluid-flow simulators. Consequently, it possible reliably estimate maps surveys using such relationship. We demonstrate workflow’s effectiveness mature Marlim oilfield by simulating response after 30 40 years seawater injection detecting remaining sweet spots reservoir. reservoirs are analogous several turbidite worldwide, can also be appraised with proposed prediction inversion significantly improve characterization.

The feasibility of reservoir monitoring using time-lapse marine CSEM
Monitoring changes in hydrocarbon reservoir geometry and pore-fluid properties that occur during production is a critical part of estimating extraction efficiency and quantifying remaining reserves. We examine the applicability of the marine controlled-source electromagnetic !CSEM" method to the reservoir-monitoring problem by analyzing representative 2D models. These studies show that CSEM res...

متن کامل3D inversion of time-lapse CSEM data for reservoir surveillance
Recent studies have inferred the feasibility of time-lapse controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) methods for the surveillance of offshore oil and gas fields. However, quantitative interpretations have not been shown to ascertain what information about the reservoirs that may be recovered. We present a 3D inversion study of synthetic time-lapse CSEM data for the lateral water flooding of a re...
متن کاملTime-lapse Monitoring with Multiply Scattered Waves
Previous formulations of coda wave interferometry make it possible to assess the average change of the medium, but they do not allow for the spatial localization of this change (Snieder et al., 2002; Snieder, 2002). We present an approach for localizing temporal changes in the medium using strongly scattered waves, and test it with numerical models for 2D scalar waves. Using an integral represe...
متن کاملTime-lapse monitoring of rock properties with coda wave interferometry
[1] The coda of seismic waves consists of that part of the signal after the directly arriving phases. In a finite medium, or in one that is strongly heterogeneous, the coda is dominated by waves which have repeatedly sampled the medium. Small changes in a medium which may have no detectable influence on the first arrivals are amplified by this repeated sampling and may thus be detectable in the...
