Time-resolved photoluminescence studies of single interface wurtzite/zincblende heterostructured InP nanowires

چکیده

The interface between wurtzite and zinc blende InP has been identified as type-II, where electrons gather on the side holes of interface. photoluminescence resulting from recombination across is expected to be long-lived exhibit non-exponential decay emission intensity after pulsed excitation. We verify this prediction using time-resolved spectroscopy nanowires containing a single heterostructure segment blende. find that significant type-II remains even more than 30 ns also considerably longer exponential (260 ps). Our results are consistent with characteristics two polytypes. lifetime becomes shorter if we create an electron gas at by n-type doping entire nanowire. This since there many given hole can recombine with, in contrast undoped case.

Temperature dependence of continuum and time resolved photoluminescence of germanium nanostructures

Germanium nanostructures were generated in the post annealed germanium oxide thin films. Visible and near infrared photoluminescence bands were observed in the samples annealed at 350°C and 400°C, respectively. These different luminescence ranges are attributed to the presence of the defects in oxide matrix and quantum confinement effect in the germanium nanostructures, respectively. Decay ti...

Single-electron tunneling in InP nanowires

We report on the fabrication and electrical characterization of field-effect devices based on wire-shaped InP crystals grown from Au catalyst particles by a vapor–liquid–solid process. Our InP wires are n-type doped with diameters in the 40–55-nm range and lengths of several micrometers. After being deposited on an oxidized Si substrate, wires are contacted individually via e-beam fabricated Ti...

Synthesis and photoluminescence studies on ZnO nanowires

ZnO nanowires were grown in gram quantities on graphite flakes (as collector) using the vapour transport and condensation approach. The yield, defined as the weight ratio of ZnO nanowires to the original graphite flakes, has been studied thoroughly by tuning the various growth parameters such as pressure and temperature inside the tube furnace, the amount of graphite powder in the original sour...

Photoluminescence performance enhancement of ZnO/MgO heterostructured nanowires and their applications in ultraviolet laser diodes.

Vertically aligned ZnO/MgO coaxial nanowire (NW) arrays were prepared on sapphire substrates by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition combined with a sputtering system. We present a comparative investigation of the morphological and optical properties of the produced heterostructures with different MgO layer thicknesses. Photoluminescence measurements showed that the optical performances of Z...

Time-resolved photoluminescence measurement on polythiophene derivative

We measured the time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) on a film of a polythiophene derivative to investigate the formation and relaxation processes of a self-trapped exciton (STE). On the highand low-energy sides of the PL spectrum, we observed an ultrafast decay component emitted during the STE formation. We also found that PL of the derivative originates from two STE states with opposite symme...
