To trust or not to trust: is trust a prerequisite for solving design quality problems?

چکیده
Low trust levels among project parties are generally believed to harm construction performance, but the role of in context information flow and solving design quality problems (DQP) remains understudied. Whereas lean management research highlights importance managing flow, few studies have investigated association between trust, DQP (or any combination thereof). This exploratory study investigates projects how these factors influence quality. The paper presents a conceptual framework based on existing building context. is elaborated validated using single case approach with multiple sites. results indicate that even though trend somewhat negatively connected overall amount work progress DQP, increasing not prerequisite for owners contractors can opposite opinions level. contributes ongoing discussions about suggests teams should focus improving communication collaboration compensate low levels.

To Trust, or not to Trust, that is the Question: Structural Properties of X.509 Certificates
The SSL/TLS protocol suite constitutes the key building block of today’s Internet security, providing encryption and authentication for end-to-end communication with its underlying X.509 certificate infrastructure. However, the system remains brittle due to its liberal delegation of signing authority: a single compromised certification authority undermines trust globally. Several recent high-pr...
متن کاملTo Trust or Not to Trust? A Model of Internet Trust from the Customer's Point of View
Trust is a major issue in Internet transactions. This paper presents a model of trust on the Internet that focuses on three dimensions of trust. It investigates the perceived value a consumer places on these dimensions when set in the context of different product categories, price discounts and immediacy of purchase. It is argued that the more willing an Internet merchant is to heed these three...
متن کاملA Trust Region Algorithm for Solving Nonlinear Equations (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper presents a practical and efficient method to solve large-scale nonlinear equations. The global convergence of this new trust region algorithm is verified. The algorithm is then used to solve the nonlinear equations arising in an Expanded Lagrangian Function (ELF). Numerical results for the implementation of some large-scale problems indicate that the algorithm is efficient for these ...
متن کاملHow much trust is enough to trust? A market-adaptive trust threshold setting for e-marketplaces
The inherent uncertainties of open marketplaces motivate the design of reputation systems to facilitate buyers in finding honest feedback from other buyers (advisers). Defining the threshold for an acceptable level of honesty of advisers is very important, since inappropriately set thresholds would filter away possibly good advice, or the opposite allow malicious buyers to badmouth good service...
