Topological phase transition in magnon bands in a honeycomb ferromagnet driven by sublattice symmetry breaking

چکیده
Ferromagnetic honeycomb systems are known to exhibit a magnonic topological phase under the existence of next-nearest neighbor Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Motivated by recent progress in sublattice-specific control magnetic anisotropy, we study magnon bands ferromagnetic monolayer and bilayer with sublattice symmetry breaking due different anisotropy energy presence DMI. We show that there is transition between insulator topologically trivial driven change relative size DMI differences sublattices. The thermal Hall conductivity proposed as an experimental probe topology.

Chiral Symmetry Breaking Phenomenon Caused by a Phase Transition
We report the mechanism and scope of “preferential enrichment”, which is an unusual symmetry-breaking enantiomeric resolution phenomenon that is initiated by the solvent-assisted solid-to-solid transformation of a metastable polymorphic form into a thermodynamically stable one during crystallization from the supersaturated solution of certain kinds of racemic mixed crystals (i.e., solid solutio...
متن کاملSpontaneous symmetry breaking of population in a nonadiabatically driven atomic trap: an Ising-class phase transition.
We have observed spontaneous symmetry breaking of the population of Brownian particles between two moving potentials in the spatiotemporally symmetric system. Cold atoms preferentially occupy one of the dynamic double-well potentials, produced in the parametrically driven dissipative magneto-optical trap far from equilibrium, above a critical number of atoms. We find that the population asymmet...

متن کاملBreaking of Topological Symmetry
The coupling of topological matter to topological Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions is considered and a model is presented. It is shown that, contrary to the two-dimensional case, this coupling may lead to a breaking of the topological symmetry. This means that the vacuum expectation values of the observables of the theory loose their invariance under small deformations of the metric while t...
متن کاملSpontaneous symmetry breaking and dynamic phase transition in monolayer silicene.
The (sqrt[3]×sqrt[3])R30° honeycomb of silicene monolayer on Ag(111) was found to undergo a phase transition to two types of mirror-symmetric boundary-separated rhombic phases at temperatures below 40 K by scanning tunneling microscopy. The first-principles calculations reveal that weak interactions between silicene and Ag(111) drive the spontaneous unusual buckling in the monolayer silicene, f...
