Towards Intelligent, Programmable, and Open Railway Networks

The virtualization and automation of network functions will be key features future high-speed railway networks, which have to provide dependable, safe, secure services. enable such as train control, integrity protection, shunting trackside monitoring maintenance virtualized run on general-purpose hardware. Network function combined with edge computing can deliver dynamic, low-latency, reliable operations achieved by embedding intelligence into the optimize operation performance enhance passenger experience. This paper presents an innovative architecture that distributed intelligence, cloudification virtualization, openness, programmability. focus is time-tolerant time-sensitive intelligent services designed follow principles service-oriented architecture. interaction between identified logical identities illustrated use cases. provides some details design interface results emulation performance.
