Paul, L. A. (2014. Transformative Experience. Oxford University Press) argues that one cannot rationally decide whether to have a transformative experience by trying form judgments, in advance, about (i) what it would feel like experience, and (ii) the subjective value of having such an experience. The problem is if you haven’t had then know like, need assess its value. However, earlier work I argued ‘what like’-knowledge comes degrees, briefly suggested that, consequently, some instances Paul’s argument schema might commit fallacy equivocation. aim this paper further explore strengthen objection by, first, offering new – modelling support it, evaluating range replies be given on behalf. conclude each reply either fails or, at best, only partially succeeds defending but not all schema. In closing, consider how we revise concepts experiences choices response conclusion.
