چکیده

We report on two recirculating loop transmission experiments over a hollow-core fiber of the Nested-Antiresonant Nodeless type (NANF). transmitted 61 channels in C-band at 32 GBaud, with either PM-QPSK or PM-16QAM modulation. In addition, L-band interferers co-propagated NANF all times, though they were not recirculated loop, to check for presence possible crosstalk effects between C and NANF. The comprised longest line yet constructed (7.72 km), as well 55 km pure-silica-core (PSCF) needed provide enough signal buffering EDFA stabilization loop. launch power into PSCF was low avoid generation any significant non-linear noise. Using PM-QPSK, we achieved record 618 (80 recirculations), an overall average GMI 3.44 bits/symb. PM-16QAM, 201 transmission, 7 saw no adverse effect from If progress reduction loss inter-modal interference continues rate last few years, these fibers might become promising alternative quest next-generation higher-throughput fibers, given their theoretical potential achieving ultra-low non-linearity ultra-wide bandwidths, ideally bringing about many-fold increase throughput per fiber.

Detection of methane at 1670-nm band with a hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber

In recent years, hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers (HC-PBFs) have been demonstrated to be a promising technology for gas sensing. In particular, the long interaction path lengths available with these fibers are especially advantageous for the detection of weakly absorbing gases such as methane. In the near-infrared region, methane has the strongest absorption band, 2ν3, at 1670 nm. However, H...

Plasmonic hollow-core photonic band gap fiber for efficient sensing of biofluids

We report a new family of hollow-core photonic crystal fibers with embedded metal wires for sensitive refractive index measurement of fluids. These fibers operate on the principle of resonant coupling of the guided core mode with the surface plasmon mode generated at the surface of metal wires embedded in the photonic crystal structure. A maximum sensitivity of 2151 nm RIU−1 (nanometer per refr...

Hollow-Core Photonic Band Gap Fibers for Particle Acceleration

Photonic band gap (PBG) dielectric fibers with hollow cores are being studied both theoretically and experimentally for use as laser driven accelerator structures. The hollow core functions as both a longitudinal waveguide for the transverse-magnetic (TM) accelerating fields and a channel for the charged particles. The dielectric surrounding the core is permeated by a periodic array of smaller ...

Design of Single Mode Photonic Crystal Fiber with Outstanding Characteristics of Confinement Loss and Chromatic Dispersion over S to L Communication Band

In this article, a novel structure of photonic crystal fiber with nearly zero ultra-flattened chromatic dispersion and ultra-low confinement loss is presented. By replacing the circular air-holes of two first rings with the elliptical air-holes, a fiber with outstanding features of chromatic dispersion and confinement loss is designed. The proposed structure is optimized for operating in a wide...
