چکیده

Background Sperm quality, including semen volume, sperm count, concentration, and total progressive motility (collectively, “semen parameters”), has declined in the recent decades. Computer-assisted analysis (CASA) provides kinematic parameters, temporal trends of which remain unclear. Our objective is to examine trend both parameters Shanghai, China, years. Methods This retrospective study analyzed 49,819 men attending our reproductive center by using CASA during 2015–2021. The sample was divided into two groups: samples that surpassed WHO guideline (2010) low reference limits (“above limit” group, ARL; n = 24,575) did not (“below BRL; 24,614). One-way variance, Kruskal–Wallis test, independent t -test, covariance were used assess differences among groups. Year, age, abstinence time included multiple linear regression model ARL group adjust confounders depict quality. Results Among all BRL groups, age subjects increased Semen volume count showed tendency with years sample, subgroup or time, whereas velocities on contrary. adjusting for confirmed these trends. (β1= −0.162; CI: −0.172, −0.152), −9.97; −10.813, −9.128), concentration (β1 −0.535; −0.772, −0.299), −1.751; −1.830, −1.672), −1.12; −0.201, −0.145) decreased year, curvilinear line velocity (VCL) 3.058; 2.912, 3.203), straight (VSL) 2.075; 1.990, 2.161), average path (VAP) 2.305; 2.224, 2.386) over (all p < 0.001). In addition, VCL, VSL, VAP significantly time. Conclusion declined, We propose that, although motion increased, suggesting a possible compensatory mechanism male fertility.

Effects of sauna on sperm movement characteristics of normal men measured by computer-assisted sperm analysis.

The effects of sauna exposure on sperm movement characteristics and other semen parameters were evaluated using computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA). A significant (p < 0.01) decrease in average path velocity (VAP), curvilinear velocity (VCL) and amplitude of lateral head displacement (ALH) was found after exposure to sauna for 2 weeks. The altered parameters returned to their original value...

P-106: The Computer-Assisted Vacuolated Sperm Analysis and Zygote Quality

Background: Digital image processing and analysis are used for computer assisted evaluation of sperm morphology. Sperm head morphology has been identified as a characteristic that can be used to predict a male’s semen quality. On the other hand, zygote competence analysis is an importance tool to select embryo(s) for transfer. The aim of the present study is to determine zygote quality resulted...

Correlation between bull fertility and sperm cell velocity parameters generated by computer-assisted semen analysis.

Motility is one of the most important characteristics associated with the fertilising ability of spermatozoa indicating their viability and structural integrity. Therefore, the examination of motility constitutes an integral part of semen analysis. Computer-assisted semen analysis (CASA) allows an accurate and objective assessment of different sperm motion characteristics with high repeatabilit...

Using computer assisted sperm analysis (CASA) to monitoring the effects of zinc and Cadmium pollution on fish sperm

Since the quality of sperm is affected by water industrial or agriculture pollution, sperm motility was measured as a sensitive and accurate bioindicator of water quality. In this study, sperm motility was measured by a computer assisted sperm analysis after 24 hours exposure of sperm to different concentration of heavy metals) Cadmium and Zinc). The results show that the sperm motility was not...

Factors influencing human sperm kinematic measurements by the Celltrak computer-assisted sperm analysis system.

This study examines the effect of varying several factors, both extrinsic and technology-dependent, on the reconstruction of human sperm trajectories and the derived kinematic measurements using videotapes and the Motion Analysis Celltrak/S instrument. In semen samples from normal healthy men, curvilinear (VCL) and straight line velocities (VSL) were found to increase 1.5-fold, and linearity (L...
