چکیده
Herein, core–shell structural SiO2@Cu and SiO2@MoS2 microspheres were prepared using SiO2 as hard core, Cu MoS2 shell. As lubricant additives introduced into base oil (PAO 40), their friction reduction wear resistance investigated in detail. Comparing with onefold additive (SiO2, MoS2), such can improve the tribological behaviors at Hertz contact stress range of 1.26–2.72 GPa (SiO2@Cu reduces up to 32.47% 67.86% 2.72 GPa, respectively). Besides, properties are superior that (the volume was reduced by 48.45% GPa). The excellent be ascribed its advantage, synergistic effect core rolling SiO2, easy-shearing self-repairing shell offer a lubrication function form dense protection film, thereby contributing optimal performance.

High efficient and sustainable utilization of water-based lubricant is essential for saving energy. In this paper, a kind of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoplatelets is synthesized and well dispersed in water due to the surface modification with oleylamine. The excellent tribological properties of the oleylamine-modified Ni-Al LDH (NiAl-LDH/OAm) nanoplatelets as water-based lubricant additi...
متن کاملGraphite and Hybrid Nanomaterials as Lubricant Additives
Lubricant additives, based on inorganic nanoparticles coated with organic outer layer, can reduce wear and increase load-carrying capacity of base oil remarkably, indicating the great potential of hybrid nanoparticles as anti-wear and extreme-pressure additives with excellent levels of performance. The organic part in the hybrid materials improves their flexibility and stability, while the inor...
متن کاملThe surface and tribological chemistry of chlorine- and sulfur- containing lubricant additives
A model for the operation of chlorinated hydrocarbon extreme-pressure additives is outlined in which the chlorinated hydrocarbon thermally decomposes at the hot (~1000 K) interface forming a chloride + carbon film, which is simultaneously worn from the surface. Assuming that seizure occurs when the chloride film thickness decreases to zero reproduces the experimentally measured seizure load vs....
