چکیده
This article uses triglobal stability analysis to address the question of shock-buffet unsteadiness, and associated modal dominance, on infinite wings at high Reynolds number, expanding upon recent biglobal work, aspiring elucidate flow phenomenon's origin characteristics. Infinite are modelled by extruding an aerofoil finite aspect ratios imposing a periodic boundary condition without assumptions spanwise homogeneity. Two distinct steady base flows, uniform non-uniform, analysed herein straight swept wings. Stability straight-wing identifies both oscillatory mode, linked chordwise shock motion synchronised with pulsation its downstream shear layer, several monotone (non-oscillatory), spatially shock-distortion modes. Those modes become outboard travelling wing their respective frequencies phase speeds correlated sweep angle. In limiting case very small wavenumbers approaching zero, effect creates branches inboard Overall, results for such quasi-three-dimensional flows agree previous studies. On contrary, cellular patterns form in proper three-dimensional wings, we present first study equilibrium solution governing equations. Spanwise-irregular found be sensitive chosen ratio. Nonlinear time-marching simulations reveal evolution events confirm insights gained through dominant from routine analysis.

Infinite latent feature models and the Indian buffet process
We define a probability distribution over equivalence classes of binary matrices with a finite number of rows and an unbounded number of columns. This distribution is suitable for use as a prior in probabilistic models that represent objects using a potentially infinite array of features. We identify a simple generative process that results in the same distribution over equivalence classes, whi...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Transonic Buffet on Swept Wing of Supercritical Airfoils
This paper presents transonic buffet simulations over a swept wing of supercritical airfoils with Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) and Detached-Eddy Simulation (DES) methods. The NASA SC(2)-0714 airfoil is used as wing profile. Computations are conducted at free-stream Mach numbers from 0.72 to 0.84 for Reynolds number 45.0 × 10 based on aerodynamic chord length. Firstly, 2D NAS...
متن کاملDependent Indian Buffet Processes
Latent variable models represent hidden structure in observational data. To account for the distribution of the observational data changing over time, space or some other covariate, we need generalizations of latent variable models that explicitly capture this dependency on the covariate. A variety of such generalizations has been proposed for latent variable models based on the Dirichlet proce...
متن کاملRestricted Indian buffet processes
Latent feature models are a powerful tool for modeling data with globally-shared features. Nonparametric exchangeable models such as the Indian Buffet Process offer modeling flexibility by letting the number of latent features be unbounded. However, current models impose implicit distributions over the number of latent features per data point, and these implicit distributions may not match our ...
متن کاملCryogenic Tunnel Pressure Measurements on a Supercritical Airfoil for Several Shock Buffet Conditions
Steady and unsteady experimental data are presented for several xed geometry conditions from a test in the NASA Langley 0.3-Meter Transonic Cryogenic Tunnel. The purpose of this test was to obtain unsteady data for transonic conditions on a xed and pitching supercritical airfoil at high Reynolds numbers. Data and brief analyses for several of the xed geometry test conditions will be presented h...
