COST Action 272 “Packet-Oriented Service Delivery via Satellite” Signaling for Inter-satellite Link Routing TD-02-009-P
This paper presents and evaluates signaling schemes for distributing information about the state of the network in a constellation of non geostationary satellites. Because routing decisions are more accurate when the state of the network is taken into account, it is necessary to devise signaling schemes that transport such state information without giving away too much network capacity.

متن کاملSystems Design Of A Satellite Link Protocol
In this paper we show how it might be possible to adapt asynchronous transfer mode technology to satellite links. Asynchronous transfer mode is a high-speed protocol designed with optic ber as the intended transmission media. Several problems arise when satellite channels are used. We propose to move the error recovery and detection from one layer of the asynchronous transfer mode protocol to a...
متن کاملTcp via Satellite Constellations
Many Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) versions have been proposed for terrestrial wired networks over the Internet Protocol (IP), e.g. Tahoe and Reno. TCP/IP is being studied to overcome its limitations within the satellite medium and to allow its efficient use in hybrid terrestrial/satellite networks. So far studies have been mainly directed to the use of Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) con...
