Two linked loci under mutation-selection balance and Muller’s ratchet

چکیده

• Mutation-selection balance at two linked loci can be fully investigated. Dynamics of loss wild-type alleles depend on the type epistasis. After Muller's ratchet clicks, a deleterious allele is fixed by selection. We report complete analysis deterministic model mutations and negative selection against them haploid without recombination. As long as mutation weaker force than selection, mutant remain rare only stable equilibrium, otherwise, variety dynamics are possible. If mutation-free genotype absent, generally equilibrium one that corresponds to fixation locus where it less deleterious. This suggests follows click governed natural instead random drift.

Mutation-selection balance under genomic imprinting at an autosomal locus.

I model the effect of genomic imprinting on the equilibrium allele frequencies at an autosomal diallelic locus subject to viability selection and mutation. The population size is assumed to be very large; male and female mutation rates may be unequal. Different models examine cases of the inactivation of one gene (with both complete and partial penetrance) and of differential expression of gene...

Disequilibrium in two-locus mutation-selection balance models.

Equilibrium behavior of two-locus mutation-selection balance models is analyzed using perturbation techniques. The classical result of Haldane for one locus is shown to carry over to two loci, if fitnesses are replaced by marginal fitnesses. If the fitness of the double heterozygote is smaller than would be produced by a multiplicative model, as in additive or quantitative fitness models, the d...

Mutation-selection balance with stochastic selection.

Diffusion theory has been used to analyze a model of mutation-selection balance in which the selection process is assumed to be stochastic in time. The limiting outcome of the mutation-stochastic selection process is determined qualitatively by the geometric mean fitnesses of the genotypes, and the conditions for fixation or polymorphism are similar to those that determine the outcome of the mu...

The effective migration rate experienced by a neutral site linked to two loci at migration-selection balance

We assume two loci under selection (A and B) and a third neutral locus C, each with two alleles denoted by A1 and A2, B1 and B2, and C1 and C2, respectively. Let the frequencies of alleles A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C3 be p, 1 p, q, 1 q, n and 1 n, respectively. We denote the recombination rate between locus i and j by rij and consider a continuous-time model, such that second-order terms of recomb...

Effective size and polymorphism of linked neutral loci in populations under directional selection.

The general theory of the effective size (Ne) for populations under directional selection is extended to cover linkage. Ne is a function of the association between neutral and selected genes generated by finite sampling. This association is reduced by three factors: the recombination rate, the reduction of genetic variance due to drift, and the reduction of genetic variance of the selected gene...
