Two Prism Critical Angle Refractometry with Attenuating Media

We present a concept that enables the determination of complex refractive index attenuating media from two critical angles, measured sequentially at interfaces between single sample and different prisms. The proposed method is general in it applies with s p polarisation states, thus suited for characterisation isotropic as well anisotropic media. Uncertainty analysis indicates relative error real (imaginary) can be less than 10?4 (in order 10%), respectively.
