Ultrafine fully vulcanized natural rubber modified by graft-copolymerization with styrene and acrylonitrile monomers

Abstract This research aims to modify ultrafine fully vulcanized powdered natural rubber (UFPNR) prepared by emulsion graft-copolymerization with styrene (St) and acrylonitrile (AN) monomers onto deproteinized (DPNR). The effects of content St/AN weight ratio on grafting efficiency thermal stability the developed DPNR-g-(PS-co-PAN) were investigated. results showed that was enhanced up 86% 15 phr St:AN 80:20. obtained radiated an electron beam at various doses, followed a spray drying process produce UFPNR. modified UFPNR particles irradiated dose 300 kGy relatively spherical particle size approximately 4.4 µm. Furthermore, degradation temperature 5wt% loss ( T d5 ) found in range 349–356 °C. revealed is suitable as toughening filler for broader spectrum polymers. Graphical
