Ultrasonic-Assisted Deposition Method for Creating Conductive Wrinkles on PDMS Surfaces

Harnessing surface wrinkle surfaces in various functional devices has been a hot topic. However, rapidly creating wrinkled on elastomers of arbitrary shape (especially curved surfaces) is still great challenge. In this work, an ultrasonic-assisted deposition method proposed to achieve nanomodification the robust layer (e.g., carbon nanotubes (CNTs)) with labyrinth pattern polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fiber, sheet, and porous sponge. It found that swelling effect dispersion ultrasonic treatment play vital roles wrinkling. As demonstration, conductive CNTs@PDMS fibers were assembled as stretchable strain sensors. The initial conductivity strain-sensing performances could be well tuned by simply adjusting time. fiber sensor exhibited remarkable stretchability (ca. 300%) good sensitivity, which can applied human motion detection, voice recognition, air-flow monitoring. also expected facile for wrinkling extended fabricate smart promoted performances.
