چکیده
Regional climate is complicated and unpredictable in the context of global change. Farmers on Loess Plateau, who rely agriculture natural resources for subsistence, are one groups feeling early effects Their vulnerability determined by their degree connection with environment. Frequent droughts Plateau have severely challenged farmers’ livelihoods, although some actions been taken to adapt these changes. To enable farmers find sustainable livelihood strategies challenging conditions, we established a research framework link resilience applied it Jiaxian County, specific area China. validate previous research, studied fluctuation trends past 30 years interrelationships between two influencing factors. The results as follows: since 1990, has polarized; however, moderate always dominant. Livelihood shows trend continuous enhancement. relationship complex, direction change can be both similar different. topography, arable land soil quality, irrigation conditions different areas impact resilience, periods. Farmers’ depend cognitive decision making assets, which critical Most study undergone significant strategy changes, while maintain original strategies. These findings provide policy implications reducing vulnerability, enhancing helping smallholder avoid poverty traps.

Optimal Indicators for Microtopography-oriented Soil Quality Assessment in Semiarid Regions of the Loess Plateau, China
This study was aimed to identify optimal indicators for microtopography-oriented soil quality assessment. Twenty-two soil physicochemical and biological parameters were investigated at 93 sampling points in five different microtopographic units in semiarid regions of the Loess Plateau, where the principal functions of eroded agriculture soils are related to productivity and anti-erosion ability...
متن کاملSustainable bioenergy production with little carbon debt in the Loess Plateau of China
BACKGROUND As a key strategy for mitigating global climate change, bioenergy production by reducing CO2 emissions plays an important role in ensuring sustainable development. However, land-use change by converting natural ecosystems into energy crop field could create a carbon debt at the beginning. Thus, the potential carbon debt calculation is necessary for determining a promising bioenergy c...
متن کاملRainfall Characteristics of the Liudaogou Catchment on the Northern Loess Plateau of China
The objectives of this study were to understand the rainfall characteristics of thewind-water erosion crisscross region on the northern Loess Plateau, China, to provide basisfor the studies on mitigation of soil erosion, estimation on surface water resources andlocal hydrological circle, etc. The Liudaogou Catchment with representative climatic andhydrologic conditions of wind-water erosion cri...
متن کاملSustainable Fertilizer Level for Winter Wheat in Different Rainfall Regions on the Loess Plateau of China
Higher fertilization on winter wheat increased the fluctuation of winter wheat yield in different rainfall years and impacted the sustainable development of winter wheat production on the Loess Plateau. Based on the long term field experimental data at Chagnwu Agricultural Station, this paper evaluated the EPIC model. And this paper also suggested a sustainable fertilizer level for winter wheat...
متن کاملLand-use types and soil chemical properties influence soil microbial communities in the semiarid Loess Plateau region in China
Similar land-use types usually have similar soil properties, and, most likely, similar microbial communities. Here, we assessed whether land-use types or soil chemical properties are the primary drivers of soil microbial community composition, and how changes in one part of the ecosystem affect another. We applied Ion Torrent sequencing to the bacterial and fungal communities of five different ...
