USAGE OF LANGUAGE CORPUSES IN STUDYING WORD FORMATION OF MODERN AMERICAN ENGLISH DIALECTS

The article deals with the principles of using concepts corpus linguistics in studying American English dialects. origins dialects are considered, and developments by W. Francis G. Kuchera investigated (Brown Corpus, 1964). concept «corpus linguistics» is defined, some problematic aspects described. qualifications for corpus-linguistic approach study dialect grammatical features defined. differences between British outlined.
