Use of complementary and alternative medicine for reducing fear of cancer recurrence among cancer survivors: Does it work?

ObjectiveFear of cancer recurrence among survivors is a psychosocial concern that affects recovery and quality life. They use complementary alternative medicine to prevent the side effects drugs relieve anxiety fear recurrence. This study aimed examine correlation between in survivors.MethodsThis cross-sectional descriptive correlational enrolled 280 referred oncology centers medical offices Kerman using convenience sampling. The research tools included questionnaire inventory. IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 was used analyze data.ResultsThe findings revealed 78.2% participants at least one type last year; 71.8% medicinal herbs, 19.6% nutritional supplements, 7.5% relaxation meditation, 7.1% dry cupping, 5.7% wet cupping. mean score 80.72 ± 18.46, which almost near midpoint inventory (84). its dimensions did not differ users non-users medicine.ConclusionsOur results suggested most past year, herbs supplements were types. Patients with must be aware different kinds medicine. A moderate level found, no difference noted Health managers planners should conduct effective psychological interventions strategies minimize survivors.
