Using virtual reality (VR) for teaching and learning in geography: fieldwork, analytical skills, and employability

This article outlines how Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, software and content can be used as a resource for teaching learning in Geography. Drawing on the authors’ first-hand experiences of using VR undergraduate postgraduate teaching, we explore firstly enhance development fieldwork observational techniques, knowledge understanding place, prior to entering field. Secondly, show enable students develop critical analytical skills relation emergent visual technologies wider implications has representation people, places landscapes. Finally, will attend ways Augmented (AR) – due its growing industrial application offer important opportunities unique practical employability which applied geovisualization data environments enhancing graduate career prospects.
