چکیده

In this paper, we investigate an in-host model for the viral dynamics of HIV-1 infection and its interaction with CTL immune response. The is sufficiently general to allow nonlinear forms both Threshold parameters are identified that completely determine global outcomes virus-target cell-CTL interactions. Impacts key parameter values functions budding rate on load CD4 count investigated using numerical simulations. Results support clinical evidence important differences between nonprogressors progressors.

Dynamics of a diffusive viral model with Beddington-DeAngelis incidence rate and CTL immune response

In this paper, a four-dimensional system of viral model with cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) immune response is investigated. This model is a reaction-diffusion system with Beddington-DeAngelis incidence rate and free diffusion in a bounded domain. With the help of comparison principle and Lyapunov function method, the well-posedness of solutions and sufficient conditions for global stability of non...

Dynamics of Viral Evolution and CTL Responses in HIV-1 Infection

Improved understanding of the dynamics of host immune responses and viral evolution is critical for effective HIV-1 vaccine design. We comprehensively analyzed Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL)-viral epitope dynamics in an antiretroviral therapy-naïve subject over the first four years of HIV-1 infection. We found that CTL responses developed sequentially and required constant antigenic stimulation f...

HIV-1 viral escape in infancy followed by emergence of a variant-specific CTL response.

Mutational escape from the CTL response represents a major driving force for viral diversification in HIV-1-infected adults, but escape during infancy has not been described previously. We studied the immune response of perinatally infected children to an epitope (B57-TW10) that is targeted early during acute HIV-1 infection in adults expressing HLA-B57 and rapidly mutates under this selection ...

Viral Vaccines and CTL Response

Immune induction by successful vaccine formulations seems to involve stimulation of both humoral and cellular arms of immunity. Nevertheless, CD8+ CTLs are of critical relevance in the context of intracellular infection and tumor for many reasons. The task of exerting antipathogen activity by CD8+ T cells, which principally function to control and eradicate intracellular pathogens, is enabled b...

Viral Dynamics of Acute HIV-1 Infection

Viral dynamics were intensively investigated in eight patients with acute HIV infection to define the earliest rates of change in plasma HIV RNA before and after the start of antiretroviral therapy. We report the first estimates of the basic reproductive number (R(0)), the number of cells infected by the progeny of an infected cell during its lifetime when target cells are not depleted. The mea...
