visMOP – A Visual Analytics Approach for Multi‐omics Pathways

We present an approach for the visual analysis of multi-omics data obtained using high-throughput methods. The term “omics” denotes measurements different types biologically relevant molecules like products gene transcription (transcriptomics) or abundance proteins (proteomics). Current popular visualization approaches often only support analyzing each these omics separately. This, however, disregards interconnectedness and processes. Consequently, it describes actual events in organism suboptimally partially. Our analytics provides a comprehensive overview details-on-demand by integrating multiple linked views. To give overview, we map to known biological pathways use combination clustered network visualization, glyphs, interactive filtering. ensure effectiveness utility our approach, designed close collaboration with domain experts assessed exemplary workflow real-world transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics from mice.
