Vitamin E intake and multiple health outcomes: an umbrella review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background The benefits of vitamin E (VE) for multiple health outcomes have been well evaluated in many recent studies. Objective purpose this umbrella review was to conduct a systematic evaluation the possible associations between VE intake and various outcomes. Methods We systematically searched databases, such as PubMed, Embase, Web Science, identify related meta-analyses observational studies randomized trials. estimated effect size each association by using random or fixed effects models 95% confidence intervals. used standard approaches evaluate quality articles (AMSTAR) classified evidence into different levels (GRADE). Results A total 1,974 were searched, 27 with 28 yielded according our exclusion criteria. inversely associated risk breast cancer, lung esophageal gastric pancreatic kidney bladder cervical neoplasms, cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's depression, age-related cataracts, metabolic syndrome, fracture. Overall, most low very low. Three (stroke, obesity) identified having “moderate” level quality. AMSTAR scores all ranged from 5 10. Conclusion Our study revealed that is beneficially However, future on recommended doses populations are also needed. The hypothesis that vitamin D is inversely associated with multiple health outcomes has been studied in the Harvard cohorts, including the Nurses' Health Study I (n=121,700 female nurses aged 37-64 at baseline in 1984), Nurses' Health Study II (n=116,671 female nurses aged 27-44 years at baseline in 1991), Health Professionals Follow-up Study (n=51,529 male health professionals aged 40-75 years...
متن کاملAssociation Between Sunlight Exposure and Vitamin D Intake and Multiple Sclerosis Disability and Progression
Background: Some studies on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) have suggested that adequate vitamin D intake can modulate the course of MS and decreases its incidence. However, there are limited studies with conflicting findings on the relation between MS severity, its course, and vitamin D intake. Objectives: The current study aimed to compare vitamin D intake and sunlight exposure between MS phenotype...
