Volumetric Analysis of the Articular Eminence Pneumatization Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Objective: To assess tomographic features of mastoid cell pneumatization (MCP) using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: evaluate 659 CBCTs (500 women 159 men) the Oral Maxillofacial Radiology service Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia Dental Clinic, between 2014 – 2015. The age group was 7 to 79 years-old. classification Al Faleh Ibrahim also used degree pneumatization, statistical analysis performed chi-square test. Results: frequency MCP 76.2 % (502 cases). highest found for grade 0 2, in 6th decade life great predominance female sex. However, no statically significant differences were with respect gender. Conclusion: prevalence 76.2% CBCT became gold-standard that allows an adequate evaluation this anatomical variant.
