Wave scattering in one dimension with absorption
Wave scattering is analyzed in a one-dimensional nonconservative medium governed by the generalized Schrödinger equation dc/dx1kc5@ ikP(x) 1Q(x)#c , where P(x) and Q(x) are real, integrable potentials with finite first moments. Various properties of the scattering solutions are obtained. The corresponding scattering matrix is analyzed, and its small-k and large-k asymptotics are established. Th...
متن کاملBounds on Scattering Poles in One Dimension
For the class of super-exponentially decaying potentials on the real line sharp upper bounds on the counting function of the poles in discs are derived and the density of the poles in strips is estimated. In the case of nonnegative potentials, explicit estimates for the width of a pole-free strip are obtained.
متن کاملGravireggeons and transplanckian scattering in models with one extra dimension
The inelastic scattering of the brane fields induced by t-channel gravireggeons exchanges in the RS model with a small curvature κ is considered, and the imaginary part of the eikonal is analytically calculated. It is demonstrated that the results can be obtained from the corresponding formulae previously derived in the ADD model with one extra dimension of the size Rc by formal replacement Rc ...
متن کاملDispersive wave turbulence in one dimension
In this article, we study numerically a one-dimensional model of dispersive wave turbulence. The article begins with a description of the model which we introduced earlier, followed by a concise summary of our previous results about it. In those previous studies, in addition to the spectra of weak turbulence (WT) theory, we also observed another distinct spectrum (the “MMT spectrum”). Our new r...
متن کاملAbsorption Problems for Quantum Walks in One Dimension
This paper treats absorption problems for the one-dimensional quantum walk determined by a 2 × 2 unitary matrix U on a state space {0, 1, . . . , N} where N is finite or infinite by using a new path integral approach based on an orthonormal basis P,Q,R and S of the vector space of complex 2× 2 matrices. Our method studied here is a natural extension of the approach in the classical random walk.
