چکیده
The accuracy of the wearable inertia-measurement-unit (IMU)-sensor-based gesture recognition may be significantly affected by undesired changes in body-fixed frame and sensor-fixed according to change subject sensor attachment. In this study, we proposed a novel IMU-sensor-based hand-guiding method robust significant subject’s body alignment based on floating bi-directional long short-term memory (bi-LSTM). Through comparative experimental studies with other two methods, it was confirmed that aligning reference human updating body-heading direction helped improve generalization performance model. As result, showed 91.7% test accuracy, confirming appropriate for under during gestures.

Recognition of Daily Gestures with Wearable Inertial Rings and Bracelets
Recognition of activities of daily living plays an important role in monitoring elderly people and helping caregivers in controlling and detecting changes in daily behaviors. Thanks to the miniaturization and low cost of Microelectromechanical systems (MEMs), in particular of Inertial Measurement Units, in recent years body-worn activity recognition has gained popularity. In this context, the p...
متن کاملRobust 3D Hand Detection for Gestures Recognition
The aim of this paper is to present a fast, robust and adaptive method for real-time 3D hand detection. Unlike traditional 2D approaches which are based on skin or features detection, the proposed method relies on depth information obtained from a stereoscopic video system. As a result, it provides the 3D position of both hands. It also deals with changes of lighting and it is capable of detect...
متن کاملRecognition of dynamic hand gestures
This paper is concerned with the problem of recognition of dynamic hand gestures. We have considered gestures which are sequences of distinct hand poses. In these gestures hand poses can undergo motion and discrete changes. However, continuous deformations of the hand shapes are not permitted. We have developed a recognition engine which can reliably recognize these gestures despite individual ...
متن کاملRecognition of Deictic Gestures for Wearable Computing
In modern society there is an increasing demand to access, record and manipulate large amounts of information. This has inspired a new approach to thinking about and designing personal computers, where the ultimate goal is to produce a truly wearable computer. In this work we present a non-invasive handgesture recognition system aimed at deictic gestures. Our system is based on the powerful Seq...
متن کاملEmotions affect the recognition of hand gestures
The body is closely tied to the processing of social and emotional information. The purpose of this study was to determine whether a relationship between emotions and social attitudes conveyed through gestures exists. Thus, we tested the effect of pro-social (i.e., happy face) and anti-social (i.e., angry face) emotional primes on the ability to detect socially relevant hand postures (i.e., pic...
