Well Interference Analysis of Shale Gas Wells Based on Embedded Discrete Fracture Model

چکیده
Well interference is commonly observed in shale gas reservoirs due to the small well spacing, and it significantly affects production. Effective evaluation of important increase production wells. Previous researches mainly focus on phenomenon optimization using numerical simulation so that quantitative analysis rare. Therefore, this paper aimed at analyzing wells through type curves. First, complex fracture networks are described by embedded discrete model (EDFM). Second, different cases designed characterize types degrees reservoirs. Third, modelling conducted simulate its effect Fourth, curves obtained quantitatively analyze compare impact Results show caused hydraulic fractures reduce parent while child can be increased owing larger equivalent stimulated area. The pressure depletion obvious when communication degree becomes higher. Differences found from early late periods combination log-log Blasingame This work provides a method for evaluation, used obtain spacing adjust fracturing parameter

SPE 139118 Production Analysis and Well Performance Forecasting of Tight Gas and Shale Gas Wells
Estimation of reserves in tight gas and shale gas reservoirs is problematic due to the low to ultra-low permeability characteristics of these reservoir systems. The sole application of conventional decline curve analysis methodologies often yields erroneous reserve estimates. Therefore, the use of theoretically-based production analysis techniques has become a must to analyze well performance a...
متن کاملHow fracture interference impacts Woodford shale gas production
An integrated analysis of fracture interference revealed that hydraulic fracture system damage was, most likely, due to stimulation fluid flooding, into depleted fracture systems around parent wells, resulting in a reduction in the effective fracture area. The team proposed a number of options to mitigate the impact of fracture interference, including refracturing the existing producing well wi...
متن کاملIntelligent fracture creation for shale gas development
Shale gas represents a major fraction of the proven reserves of natural gas in the United States and a collection of other countries. Higher gas prices and the need for cleaner fuels provides motivation for commercializing shale gas deposits even though the cost is substantially higher than traditional gas deposits. Recent advances in horizontal drilling and multistage hydraulic fracturing, whi...
متن کاملmortality forecasting based on lee-carter model
over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...
15 صفحه اولOrganic compounds in produced waters from shale gas wells.
A detailed analysis is reported of the organic composition of produced water samples from typical shale gas wells in the Marcellus (PA), Eagle Ford (TX), and Barnett (NM) formations. The quality of shale gas produced (and frac flowback) waters is a current environmental concern and disposal problem for producers. Re-use of produced water for hydraulic fracturing is being encouraged; however, kn...
