Homogeneous Einstein–weyl Structures on Symmetric Spaces
In this paper we examine homogeneous Einstein–Weyl structures and classify them on compact irreducible symmetric spaces. We find that the invariant Einstein–Weyl equation is very restrictive: Einstein–Weyl structures occur only on those spaces for which the isotropy representation has a trivial component, for example, the total space of a circle bundle.
متن کاملOn fundamental domains and volumes of hyperbolic Coxeter-Weyl groups
We present a simple method for determining the shape of fundamental domains of generalized modular groups related to Weyl groups of hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras. These domains are given as subsets of certain generalized upper half planes, on which the Weyl groups act via generalized modular transformations. Our construction only requires the Cartan matrix of the underlying finitedimensional Li...
متن کاملHyperbolic and Uniform Domains in Banach Spaces
A domain G in a Banach space is said to be δ-hyperbolic if it is a Gromov δ-hyperbolic space in the quasihyperbolic metric. Then G has the Gromov boundary ∂∗G and the norm boundary ∂G. We show that the following properties are quantitatively equivalent: (1) G is C-uniform. (2) G is δ-hyperbolic and there is a natural bijective map G ∪ ∂∗G → G ∪ ∂G, which is η-quasimöbius rel ∂∗G. (3) G is δ-hyp...
متن کاملWeyl Quantization from Geometric Quantization
In [23] a nice looking formula is conjectured for a deformed product of functions on a symplectic manifold in case it concerns a hermitian symmetric space of non-compact type. We derive such a formula for simply connected symmetric symplectic spaces using ideas from geometric quantization and prequantization of symplectic groupoids. We compute the result explicitly for the natural 2-dimensional...
متن کاملOn Symmetrizability of Hyperbolic Matrix Spaces
A new symmetrizability criterion for linear matrix spaces is proposed, with applications to the theory of first order conservation laws. Let L ⊂ Mat(n, k) be a real linear subspace of the space of (n × n)-matrices with coefficients from the field k = R or C. Definition 1. The family L is said to be hyperbolic if (1) A ∈ L for all A ∈ L, and all matrices in L have a simple real spectrum (i.e., t...
