چکیده

Objective: Repeat angiography is usually performed in spontaneous SAH patients who have negative initial angiography. In this study we aimed to evaluate the yield of repeat with different clinics and bleeding paterns.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was on admitted our neurosurgery clinic. The were divided into two groups as perimesencephalic nonperimesencephalic according their patern cerebral CT. Demographic clinic data, routine follow-up within 2 weeks, complications due repeated presence new detected vascular pathology all recorded.
Results: 208 mean age 60.00±15.82 (20-83) years included. Fisher score found lower patients. Mortality also seen more frequently SAH. related only without any statistically significancy (0 vs 4, p:0.078). incidence similiar both groups.
Conclusion: conclusion clinicians should consider subsequent neuroimaging tests once rule out pathologies. Our data suggested that has a better less mortality when compared no even after Therefore high quality MR or CTangiography can be easily rather than which an invasive imaging method. Cerebral considered suspected cases

Management of Spontaneous Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Patients with Negative Initial Digital Subtraction Angiogram Findings: Conservative or Aggressive?

Background. The ideal management of SAH patients with negative initial DSA findings remains unresolved. Objective. (i) To present risk factors, clinical courses, and outcomes in different types of SAH patients with negative DSA findings; (ii) to explore the differences of basal vein between aSAH patients and NASAH patients; and (iii) to evaluate the value of repeated DSA for these patients. Met...

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage with Negative Baseline Digital Subtraction Angiography: Is Repeat Digital Subtraction Angiography Necessary?

INTRODUCTION Patients with negative initial digital subtraction angiography (DSA) are at significant risk for re-bleeding, which can lead to severe disability and death. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the necessity of repeat DSA in subgroups of patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with negative initial DSA. METHODS A total of 904 spontaneous SAH patients were admitted to our...

Different clinical characteristics between perimesencephalic subarachnoid hemorrhage and diffuse subarachnoid hemorrhage with negative initial angiography.

AIM The purpose of this study was to compare the different clinical features, outcome and treatment strategies in patients with perimesencephalic SAH (p-SAH) and diffuse SAH (d-SAH). MATERIAL AND METHODS 83 patients with spontaneous SAH and negative initial cerebral angiography were retrospectively reviewed. RESULTS There were 49 patients with p-SAH and 34 with d-SAH. The patients with d-SA...

Negative CT angiography findings in patients with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage: When is digital subtraction angiography still needed?

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE CTA is becoming the frontline modality to reveal aneurysms in patients with SAH. However, in about 20% of SAH patients no aneurysm is found. In these cases, intra-arterial DSA is still performed. Our aim was to evaluate whether negative findings on CTA can reliably exclude aneurysms in patients with acute SAH. MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted a retrospective analysis ...

Regarding "Cerebral Angiography for Evaluation of Patients with CT Angiogram-Negative Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: An 11-Year Experience".

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE CT angiography is increasingly used to evaluate patients with nontraumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage given its high sensitivity for aneurysms. We investigated the yield of digital subtraction angiography among patients with SAH or intraventricular hemorrhage and a negative CTA. MATERIALS AND METHODS An 11-year, single-center retrospective review of all consecutive patient...
