Who benefits from school-to-work linkages in the labour market? A comparison between natives, migrants educated abroad, and those educated domestically

چکیده
Abstract Recent research suggests that people with more occupation-specific qualifications (i.e. link to a smaller set of occupations) experience greater benefits in the labour market. Based on human capital, signalling and credentialing theory, we argue these may vary between native majority population, individuals migration background who hold foreign qualification, domestic qualification. Using data from German Microcensus, find for both immigrants holding qualification relates higher chance working position individual is educated terms level field. Migrants profit less suffer their associated disadvantages.
