Why We Need TI-Oriented Language Learning and Teaching (TILLT)

The teaching of foreign languages to students in Translation and Interpreting (TI) programmes should be framed within the field Language for Specific Purposes (LSP). This would make it possible pinpoint specific curricular content methodological traits that contribute enhancement communicative competence initial development TI competences. paper analyses students’ perspectives on L2 a programme how undertaken best comply with linguistic demands imposed by translation interpreting. A thematic analysis 117 open questionnaires returned from Austria, Slovenia Spain identified five areas which attribute particular importance, considered when developing TI-oriented curricula.
