A new O-terpenoidal coumarin 1, named hekumarone, was isolated from the leaves and twigs of Clausena anisum-olens Merr.(Rutaceae) collected in Hekou County in Yunnan Province, P.R. China. Structure elucidation and unambiguous NMR assignments for the title compound was carried out on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR experiments.

From leaves of Triticum aestivum a new O-glycosylflavone has been isolated together with chlorogenic acid and its 3'-methyl ether and 6 C-glycosylflavones. The structure of the new flavonoid was determined by 1D and 2D NMR techniques and other spectral evidence as 5,7-dihydroxy-3',4',5'-trimethoxyflavone-7-O-beta-rutinoside.

The title compound, C(26)H(34)O(11), known as bruceine A, is a natural quassinoid extracted from the dried fruits of Brucea javanica. Its structure consists of five fused rings including an oxygen-containing heterocyclic ring and a lactone ring. Two intra-molecular O-H⋯O links help to establish the mol-ecular conformation. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules.

From the 80% EtOH extract of the bark of Ceiba pentandra (L.) Gaertner, a new isoflavone glycoside was isolated along with known isoflavones, vavain and vavain glucoside. The structure was elucidated by spectroscopic analysis as 5-hydroxy-7,4',5'-trimethoxyisoflavone 3'-O-alpha-L-arabinofuranosyl(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside.
