YSF: a 6TiSCH Scheduling Function Minimizing Latency of Data Gathering in IIoT

Data gathering systems in the Industrial IoT require an end-to-end latency as low one second with coverage of a few hundred meters. The 6TiSCH standard is well suited for these types applications. A network multi-hop wireless IPv6 which uses Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH). TSCH medium access mode IEEE802.15.4 provides deterministic properties, and increases robustness against external interference multipath fading. key component its scheduling function that builds communication schedule, greatly impacts performance. Although there are several proposed solutions literature, most them not directly applicable to real-world deployments because they fail take into consideration dynamics network. Some assume fixed routing topology, does match where topology dynamically changes radio environment. In this article, we propose full-featured called YSF, autonomously takes account all aspects dynamics, including formation phase parent switching. YSF aims at minimizing maximizing reliability data We evaluate by simulation, compare it MSF, state-of-art being standardized IETF working group.
