چکیده

Cyclic 3d-4f molecular magnets have received considerable attention owing to their potential applications in high-density data storage and quantum information processing. As a rare example of ferromagnetic polynuclear Cr rings, {Cr8Y8} represents valuable test bed directly study the magnetic interaction between Cr3+ ions large hexadecametallic {Cr8Ln8} (Ln = 4f metal) molecules. We proposed “single-J” model approximate low-temperature spin dynamics our earlier study, while zero-field splitting (ZFS) levels was also suggested by heat capacity data. In order deeper understanding magnetism {Cr8Y8}, it is necessary verify ZFS means high-resolution spectral methods identify its origin. this work, we present high-frequency electron resonance (HF-ESR) on {Cr8Y8}. The X-band ESR spectra consists multi-peak structure, indicative anisotropy that breaks degeneracy states absence field. HF-ESR are collected extract parameters. observed sharp peak due transitions S 11 broadband corresponding distribution peaks 12 levels. By analyzing spectra, confirm expected ground state determine parameter D as −0.069 K, and, furthermore, reproduce recorded at 154 GHz. macrospin proves still be valid. attributed axial anisotropy, found some other Cr-based wheels. detailed investigation presented paper will benefit studies wheels with Ln3+ highlights importance method probe determining parameters very small magnitude.

High - field ESR studies of the quantum spin magnet

We report an electron spin resonance (ESR) study of the s = 1/2-Heisenberg pseudo-ladder magnet CaCu 2 O 3 in pulsed magnetic fields up to 40 T. At sub-Terahertz frequencies we observe an ESR signal originating from a small amount of uncompensated spins residing presumably at the imperfections of the strongly antiferromagnetically correlated host spin lattice. The data give evidence that these ...

High-frequency ESR at ACERT.

High-field ESR offers many advantages in exploring fundamental questions of structure and dynamics in chemical, biological and physical samples. We provide a review of recent work performed at ACERT demonstrating the utility and flexibility of our methods for extracting both qualitative and quantitative information from a variety of systems. In particular, we emphasize the utility of multi-freq...

Temperature dependence of ESR intensity for the nanoscale molecular magnet

The electron spin resonance (ESR) of nanoscale molecular magnet V15 is studied. Since the Hamiltonian of V15 has a large Hilbert space and numerical calculations of the ESR signal evaluating the Kubo formula with exact diagonalization method is difficult, we implement the formula with the help of the random vector technique and the Chebyshev polynominal expansion, which we name the double Cheby...
