Study of Υ(5S) decays to B0 and B mesons

The fully reconstructed B+ → J/ψK+, B0 → J/ψK∗0, B+ → D̄0π+ and B0 → D−π+ decays are used to obtain the B+ and B0 production rates per bb̄ event, f (B+) = (67.5± 3.6± 4.8)% and f (B0) = (70.4+5.2 −5.1 ± 6.2)%. Assuming equal rates to B+ and B0 mesons in all channels produced at the Υ(5S) energy, we measure the fractions for bb̄ event transitions to the two-body and multi-body channels with B+/0 meson pairs, f (BB̄) = (5.1±0.9± 0.4)%, f (BB̄∗ + B∗B̄) = (12.6+1.2 −1.1 ± 1.0)%, f (B∗B̄∗) = (34.5 +1.9 −1.8 ± 2.7)%, f (B(∗)B̄(∗)π(π)) = (16.4+1.6 −1.5 ± 1.2)%, f (BB̄π) = (0.0± 1.1± 0.2)%, f (BB̄∗π + B∗B̄π) = (6.8 +2.1 −2.0 ± 0.7)%, and f (B∗B̄∗π) = (1.0+1.3 −1.2±0.3)%.

We calculate the decay rate ratios for OZI allowed decays of Υ(5S) to two B mesons by using the decay amplitudes which incorporate the wave function of the Υ(5S) state.
