Large models (like the Bunny) sometimes have more vertices than necessary, especially when the model is projected to a small screen area. We use mesh simplification to create a vertex hierarchy that allows us to discard some vertices. Mesh Subdivision

Frame coherent 3D stippling for non-photorealistic computer graphics
This thesis deals with the question of how to produce non-photorealistic stippling animations of 3Dmodels. Non-photorealistic animation techniques ought to take into account three important issues that arise when applying 2D drawing styles to 3D model rendering: frame-coherence, scalability and view-dependance, and rendition of animated models. To deal with these issues, the author proposes poi...
متن کاملReal-Time Animated Stippling
Stippling is an artistic rendering technique where shading and texture is given by placing points or stipples on the canvas until the desired darkness is achieved. Computergenerated stippling has focused on producing high quality 2D renditions for print media, while stippling of 3D models in animations has received little attention. After describing current advances in stippling for print media...
متن کاملCoherent Frames
Frames which can be generated by the action of some operators (e.g. translation, dilation, modulation, ...) on a single element $f$ in a Hilbert space, called coherent frames. In this paper, we introduce a class of continuous frames in a Hilbert space $mathcal{H}$ which is indexed by some locally compact group $G$, equipped with its left Haar measure. These frames are obtained as the orbits of ...
متن کاملVideo Stippling
In this paper, we consider rendering color videos using a non-photo-realistic art form technique commonly called stippling. Stippling is the art of rendering images using point sets, possibly with various attributes like sizes, elementary shapes, and colors. Producing nice stippling is attractive not only for the sake of image depiction but also because it yields a compact vectorial format for ...
متن کاملOn $z$-ideals of pointfree function rings
Let $L$ be a completely regular frame and $mathcal{R}L$ be the ring of continuous real-valued functions on $L$. We show that the lattice $Zid(mathcal{R}L)$ of $z$-ideals of $mathcal{R}L$ is a normal coherent Yosida frame, which extends the corresponding $C(X)$ result of Mart'{i}nez and Zenk. This we do by exhibiting $Zid(mathcal{R}L)$ as a quotient of $Rad(mathcal{R}L)$, the ...
